ABOUT

Courtney L Hall was born in Amherst, Ohio in 1987. She spent her childhood traveling across the country with her parents, living in California, Florida, Connecticut, and Washington. Hall received a BFA in Painting from The Columbus College of Art and Design in 2008. She earned her MA in Painting from The University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012. Courtney currently lives and works in Columbus, Ohio.

Well-versed in painting, drawing, printmaking, and collage, Hall’s personal artwork is based in abstraction that incorporates design principles and aesthetic influence from fashion trends and contemporary culture. Hall’s work often utilizes nontraditional mediums, such as crayon, white out, or found objects. In her commercial and branding work, Hall approaches graphic design from a fine arts perspective and incorporates handmade elements into her graphic design process.

Hall has significant experience as an art educator, providing curriculum development and in-person teaching to children (grades K-8) through various institutions since 2007. To offer remote teaching options to her students in 2020, Hall developed the video series Miss Hall's Art Class as an online educational resource, which was endorsed by the Wexner Center for the Arts

Hall currently serves as the exclusive visual artist for Nanodog Brewing. Since its inception in 2019, she has provided the brand with its logo and all its packaging and promotional designs. Nanodog products featuring Hall’s original artwork and type fonts are available online and at Brewdog bar locations throughout the United States and internationally.
